Single exercise protects you from heart attack

It is a well-known fact that regular exercise is beneficial to maintain your health. It includes not only prevention of heart attack and cerebral infarction but also that of depression and dementia.

Therefore, most physicians recommend you to take an exercise regularly. But, it is difficult for people who have no habits of exercise to take a time for exercise every day, or even once a week.

One of the reasons regular exercise can hardly be maintained is that the effect of exercise is unlikely to be visible. You will feel exhausted after 1km running, but you never believe this experience directly improves your body function.

According to a recent study, however, the effect of exercise appear almost immediately. It is suggested that taking an exercise can reduce the damage of a heart attack. This effect emerges immediately after the act and lasts for some days.

The Conversation: A single workout could save your life

This experiment was conducted using rats. Thus, it is unclear whether the result can apply to the humans. In the case the researchers' hypothesis is correct, a physical session once a week may reduce the risk of critical heart failure constantly.

On the other hand, people who are fearful of an ischemic heart attack are likely to avoid exercise, while others are rather obsessive to take exercise. Based on the result of this study, keeping your body calm is no good for prevention of disease. I will encourage some patients with health anxiety to take a small exercise.
