The newly developed legislation includes many types of fruite flavored cigarettes in the subject of restriction. They have been popular in youth, according to the media.
It is no doubt that cigarettes are harmful to human health, as many studies suggest. I agree with the stricter regulation for protecting youths' health.
However, this policy will be effectively decrease the exposure to cigarettes in youth, I am afraid. In the UK, cannabis use is also forbidden. But many people freely use cannabis. As cigarette are more common, it seems difficult to ban the cigarettes entirely.
Also, youths often break a law as an expression of their courage and belonging to a gang group I guess an official inhibition will ignite the curiosity and increase the motivation of breaking a law.
As well as alcohol, tobacco is not easy to be ban from the society. I hope the government's intention will be successful.
