Psychological pain in Uygurs diaspora

There are still several issues around ethnic conflict all over world.

Even moderated than the past, many people seek their home town. Uygurs diaspora is one of the largest isses.

According to the media, these people are suffering from psychiatric symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts.

South China Morning Post: Psychological torture’: Uygurs abroad face mental health crisis over plight of relatives who remain in Xinjiang

Actually, psychiatric problem occurs not limited in suffering people. But longitudinal exposure to insecure circumstance is a great risk factor to mental illnesses. A survey revealed that over 90% of the respondents in Uygurs diaspora had some mental symptoms.

Although I sense this result is a little exaggerating, it is highly likely a considerable percentage of people needs psychological help.

At the same time, shedding the light to mental status of people itself is rather pleased. In a more critical situation, mental health would not be concerned at all. I believe the situation is getting gradually better thanks to endeavor of relevant activists.
