Home cooking due to pandemic

It is often heard that the opportunity of home cooking has been increased since the novel corona virus pandemic made us stay home. Actually, I myself take almost every meal at home now, while approximately half of them were taken outside previously.

Home cooking can be healthier than dinner in a restaurant, some researchers say.

The Conversation: Home cooking means healthier eating – there’s an opportunity to change food habits for good

In my opinion, the main advantage of home cooking is the fact that you can take much vegetable at home. Most restaurants as well as fast-food franchises offer meals with too little vegetable. Also, the meal they provide contains much fat, red meat, and dairy products. They are suspected to harm our body in a longitudinal way.

It is useful to choose some products believed as good for your health in this opportunity. Nuts, red vegetables, some fruits, olive oil are likely to be beneficial.

On the other hand, cooking at home is a serious work for non-skilled people. Relying on preserved food too much for daily meal is no more healthy. Balanced diet is essential for us to maintain our health, especially in this crisis.
