Amazon, as well as some other e-commerce companies, offers affiliate marketing program. Thus, blogger and website organizers can get some rewards when a customer purchase Amazon's goods after clicking advertisement appeared on his web page. The late of reward was up to 8% of the sales.
But Amazon will lower the rate by 30-80% since next week. This decision will strike many bloggers relying on the income from affiliate programs.
Because of COVID-19 pandemic, many people hesitate to go out to shopping. Amazon's sales must be drastically increased in recent. I guess Amazon would like to improve its balance sheet through cutting the cost for affiliate program.
I am not familiar with the advertisement business. I have no ads on this blog. As far as I remember, Amazon lowered the rate of incentive also in the past. Thus, the reward of affiliate will never be risen.
Amazon itself will become more stable, and conservative, company. It is a rational policy for Amazon to survive the next era, I think.
