Hatsune Miku is a famous Vocaloid. Vocaloids were originally developed to sing songs like a human according to the program of the composer. Before Hatsune Miku, there had already been some vocaloids. But Hatsune Miku became popular for her cute figure and highly qualified voice. Nowadays, tens of thousands of songs developed of many composers for Hatsune Miku are available worldwide.
Hatsune Miku was born in Hokkaido where the company produced her is. But, Chiba-shi is also an enthusiastic supporter of Hatsune Miku.
Some people have mentioned that the symbol of Chiba-shi resembles the silhouette of Hatsune Miku. And then, Chiba-shi conducted a series of events to celebrate the 10th anniversary. Chiba-shi's symbol was changed to Hatsune Miku on 31st August.
It is wonderful that such a virtual idol is collaborating with a prefecturel government. Unfortunately, I cannot visit the event conducted at Makuhari. Nonetheless, I will enjoy this celebration.
