Miss America organization has conducted a contest in which candidates make an exposure wearing a swimsuit. It attracts the audience, mainly men, because the bodyline of candidates is visible in the swimwear.
But it was criticized as the commissioner made a judge with an excessive emphasize of physical appearance. The organization is planning to introduce a presentation competition instead of swimwear seeing.

To be honest, I am indifferent to Miss America, or other beauty contests. I do not criticize any competitors and organizers. Physical cuteness is no more an alignment of a human. It is important, but not decisive.
A presentation competition sounds good. However, I think its value is far from the original concept of Miss America, though I am not sure about its history.
On the other hand, I wonder why its name is "Miss America." It is not bad if a married woman wins the representative of the US, I believe.
