Password ruling should be reconsidered

Very recently, I was annoyed to request to change the password. I believe the regular change of passwords is no more useful to protect my account.

Bitcoin Cash, a fruit of hard fork

Surprisingly, Bitcoin Cash is alive with high magnitude of value. Furthermore, the price of Bitcoin is still rising. I think many owners of Bitcoin made profits with this fork.

North Korea's missile flew over Japan

In the early morning on Aug 29, 2017, citizens lived in Northern area of Japan woke up according to an official alarm. J-alert, an emergency reporting system by the government, notified users of a smartphone that a flying object from North Korea was approaching.

Official message was encouraging to evacuate them to indoor. In reality, few citizens seemed actually to seek a shelter because most people had been at home.

A few minutes after the alert, a ballistic missile flew in the sky over Erimomisaki, a cape in Hokkaido. Soon, the object was split into three matters. Nobody was damaged by the missile.

CNN: Trump says 'all options on table' after North Korea launches missile over Japan

This is the fifth case of North Korea's missile gets through the sky over Japan. Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan, announced that the government had completely grasped the trail of the missile and there was no dangerousness for Japan. As well, he condemned North Korea for its brutal act.

Donald Trump also made a blame to North Korea, suggesting that the US keeps an option to fight with the North.

However, it is unlikely that this incident will bring war, fortunately. North Korea seems to have calculated the outcome of this experiment. Kim Jong-Un seriously recognizes that he would not survive the real battle with the US. After all, this event is merely an operation to suggest the tyranny to domestic and international viewers.

The most worrying possibility is an accident. If North Korea's weapon injuries the US troop, Trump will have no choice but opening the war. Then, neither will win the battle. North Korea will soon perish, and stormy refugees will come to South Korea and Japan. The extinction of North Korea will never bring fruits to the US and Japan. Therefore, I expect the North Korea's power of technology and diplomacy, ironically.

Wonder Woman, too naive as Messiah

To be honest, yesterday I saw Wonder Woman on cinema subsequently to Spider-Man.

Wonder Woman is a heroine of DC comics. DC is as famous as Marvel in the US. She appeared in "Batman v Superman" firstly. And this film describes her origin.

My past entry: Batman v Superman, for fans only

And, unfortunately, I did not enjoy this movie, despite its popularity.

(This entry mentions the core of the story-line.)

Wonder Woman was originally a princess of paradise. In the island, there was no male, and she was said to have been made from clay. She was told that her family would fight against Ares, the god of war, who brings the war and malice to the world.

The main story of this film begins at the age of WWI. A man, Steve Trevor, accidentally reaches the island. He is a British spy carrying a top secret from a German military lab and was chased by German troop. Wonder Woman helps him, convincing that Ares is behind of the war, to go along with him to the UK.

The man reported that Germany was developing a lethal chemical weapon. But the leaders of the UK prioritize the truce with Germany, ignoring his warning. Wonder Woman decides to defeat the German general who is planning to develop the toxic gas. And Trevor accepts her to bring her to the battlefront.

Actually, I did not understand his behavior. For him, Wonder Woman must be a crazy girl believing the devil. Why did he expose his life to a serious risk? As a spy, he must have experienced many many complicated situations. There must be a certain reason for him to help her, for example, he had abandoned his daughter who resembles Wonder Woman.

On the other hand, Wonder Woman herself is described as a naive girl. She had not met any men in her born place. She had not worn any feminine dress. But she understands several languages, and have vast knowledge. Then, she must know the complexity of the human behavior and society. In my sense, she looks intellectual but stupid. It was disappointing.

She kills general Ludendorff whom she has believed as the avatar of Ares. But, the war never ends. Then, her act is merely a murder. Nonetheless, she does not regret her behavior. It reminds me the massacre by crusadors.

In the last scene, it is revealed that Wonder Woman is a daughter of Zeus himself. And, Ares names himself the God of Truth, and he explains that he has been giving the destructive knowledge to many persons so that humankind would proceed to the ruin. It is an act of Lucifer.

Therefore, Wonder Woman is a symbol of the innocent virgin. However, is it truly acceptable for many women? I sense it is a very stereotypical image of women.

In the DC Comics series, Batman films, for example, expresses the dark side of humanity. Comparing to them, Wonder Woman looks very superficial.

By the way, the 3D graphics were not attractive in this film.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, a life-sized movie

I saw Spider-Man: Homecoming on cinema. I enjoyed MX4D stimulation with the 3D graphic.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is the 6th real movie featuring Spider-Man, as well as the first episode of Homecoming trilogy. The first Spider-Man trilogy was released in the 2000s. And Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 were released. But this series failed to be a great success.

And this third Spider-Man, as Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland appeared firstly at "Captain America: Civil War." In this film, he was recruited by Tony Sterk (Iron-Man), to be opposed to Captain America and his allies.

Thus, Peter, a 15-year-old boy, matched world-famous heroes on the pre-story. It is quite natural that Peter became proud of himself, and is arrogantly wanting to be greater.

However, he has a difficulty to deal with troubles around the city of Queens. Also, Tony and Happy, his subordinate, seem unfriendly to Peter. Tony worries about endangering Peter in a battle with villains, but Peter hardly understands his intention.

Peter begins to enter riskier mission on his own. He desires to be admired by Tony, and finally to become a member of Avengers, the superheroes team. But his actions expose many people to fatal risk, unfortunately. Tony gets angered, getting rid of Peter's high-tech Spider Suit.

Finally, Peter notices the real nature of the villain. He is forced to choose to fight with the villain sacrificing a usual happiness, or abandon his justice.

In this film, the Hero is a life-sized man. Peter is a high-school boy. He wants to attract the attention of a beautiful classmate. He merely dreams to be a hero, not imagining the responsibility behind their work. Therefore, Peter has to go to the last stage wearing his handmade suit.

The final cut of the decisive battle was not cool at all. I think it is a taste of Spider-Man. He is not cool nor smart, but it is the reason he is called "your friendly neighborhood" with love.

In this film, a villain is a blue-collared man. He worked as a scavenger after the fight between heroes and aliens, but loses his job because of Tony. Then, he begins to steal parts of aliens. He has no intention to conquer the world or even against the government. He only wants to keep his family safe and peaceful. In a sense, Iron-Man and Spider-Man made his a villain.

I was satisfied with this movie totally. Spider-Man is far different from other heroes such as Iron-Man or Thor. I am curious about how Peter will grow in the next Homecoming.

Personal Rating: 3 (fair)

Sperm is decreasing in men

Recent environmental changes cause several influences on our daily life. Furthermore, our body has been gradually modified unintentionally.

Changing is a form of evolution. Even if it seems not adaptative, there are some rationales behind it.

But, there is shocking a report about recent finding. The amount of sperm of men is decreasing through these some decades.

According to this study, sperm concentration fell by 52.4% from 1973 to 2011. Of course, there are several points of discussion before validating the result. Counting method may be so different between now and some decades ago. The characteristics of the subjects can also be inconsistent. But this study seems properly structured at a glance.

The Guardian: Sperm counts among western men have halved in last 40 years – study

If the result is true, what does it mean, and what should we do? Is air and soil pollution so serious that our species is going to decline?

It may be true that the human being needs fewer babies than in the ancient era. Thus, it is possible that nature itself planned lesser birth rate. It is totally unclear where we will go.

A third, or at least 5% of dementia is preventable

Dementia is one of the more severe diseases in the 21st century. As our life expectancy has been extended near to a century, the prevalence rate of dementia is also rocketing. Dementia gets rid of our quality of life. And caregivers are forced to devote a mass amount of labor and money to address problematic behaviors of people with dementia.

It has been revealed that there are several types of dementia. Each disease seems to have different origins. So, what can we do to prevent our brains from getting demented?

Many studies have been conducted so far on this issue. Few results are trustworthy, however. It is certain that lifestyle, especially in the later stage, will influence on the onset of dementia. But, the magnitude of the effect of the intervention is not clear.

My past entry: Preventing dementia

A recent study suggests a third of dementia can be prevented by continuing an optimal lifestyle. According to the researchers, midlife hearing loss, leaving education before secondary school, smoking in later life, and later life depression are all associated with the onset of dementia with a certain proportion. Also, social isolation, later life diabetes, midlife high blood pressure, midlife obesity, and lack of exercise in later life may also contribute to causing dementia. These factors are more or less controllable. Thus, some percentage of dementia is preventable.

The Guardian: Lifestyle changes could prevent a third of dementia cases, report suggests

Actually, a third is too optimistic as the proportion of preventable dementia, as the researchers admit. In reality, there may be only 5% of whole dementia reduced with lifestyle modification. Nonetheless, intervention is somehow valuable. Keeping social activity, reducing smoking, maintaining the body weight and blood pressure, and regular exercise will make you distant from dementia a little.

Pink Whale Challenge

When I read the article below, firstly I could not understand what did it mean.

Hindustan Times: Pink Whale Challenge: A better, healthier alternative to ‘The Blue Whale’

I had not known the words "Blue Whale Challenge." As soon as knowing it, I felt upset as well as shamed.

Blue Whale Challenge was developed by a Russian in 2013. Astonishingly, it was a suicide game played on the social media. The players are given various orders every day for 50 days. They include some self-harming, meaningless, and symbolic contents. And on the last day, players are demanded to commit suicide.

It is not a joke, unfortunately. Over a hundred of people are identified to have taken their own life obeying the order. The developer of this evil game was arrested. The culprit seems to have introduced some mind-control techniques in the structure of the game. And its influence was spread to some countries.

Pink Whale Challenge was developed in Brazil to be a counter of Blue Whale. It can be seen on the website. iOS and Android application are also available.

Daily Challenge

Pink Whale Challenge requests you a small action every day. Each of them let you feel happy or lessen sadness. The last order is to help another person or donate something to an organization. The players are expected to change from a sufferer to a supporter. This concept is consistent with some psychotherapeutic technique such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Blue Whale and Pink Whale tell us how easily we can control other's mood. As a psychiatrist, I never accept the developer of Blue Whale Challenge. And we should be aware of the risk for an abuse of psychiatry.
